Heritage Railway: Stogumber Station Just like the shop this is another community & volunteer project.
Stogumber is lucky enough to have it’s own heritage railway station – with steam and diesel trains for visitors and locals alike. Everyone loves to hear the whistles when trains visit the station on their way between Bishops Lydeard and Minehead. The station has it’s own car park and does teas too – so why not visit for a cream tea and relax in the pretty garden all run and cared for by volunteers.

The facebook page of the White Horse Inn A quiet and friendly welcome from Lisa and Tim and from the locals. The pub offers well kept beer and Guiness, great food Thursday – Sunday, and good company if you want to join in – along with good old English banter, you won’t regret a visit to this very typical rural country pub. Join the locals at the bar or outside tables, there is usually someone keen to chat.
Stogumber St. Mary’s Church Facebook page There is often something going on in or outside the church and opposite the shop – especially in the Summer with coffee mornings on the green outside.
The church and area in front of the church is used for all sort of community gatherings. All are welcome to join in – you are not required or expected to attend church !
Stogumber is lucky enough to have a village school
Stogumber currently has a Neighbourhood Plan in place that has been adopted by the District Council. This is a document that is referred to when considering planning applications in the neighbourhood area. The Neighbourhood plan was a huge undertaking for which residents are very grateful – it was completed by a local resident and is useful to refer to when asking about the village in general.
